Now that the bloody hunt for Pablo Escobar has ended, the DEA turns its attention to the powerful Cali Cartel and its four Kings - Gilberto Rodriguez Orejuela (Damian Alcazar), leader of Cali Cartel; Miguel Rodriguez Orejuela (Francisco Denis), brains behind the rise of the of Cali Cartel and Gilberto's brother; Pacho Herrera (Alberto Ammann), the on-the-low hitman, runs the Mexican connection and global distribution and Chepe Santacruz Londono (Pepe Rapazote) who runs the satellite NYC empire of the Colombian drug network. There's plenty more drugs, plenty more gunfire, and another empire to take down. With scenes of auto bombs exploding, men about to be dismembered, and a shootout in a hair salon that seems straight out of Scarface, this season looks to be the bloodiest yet. Enter the Cali Cartel, which will be the primary subject this season. For better or worse, Narcos is not going to be the same.
But luckily, the man who helped to take down Escobar has a plan. That just means more screen time for Agent Pena, played by Pedro Pascal. Netflix just released the trailer for the third season, and it proves to be just as exciting, dark, and violent as the first two. The latter is also the one who conducts the business of the Cali cartel outside of South America. "How much I'm involved is to be seen".
But make no mistake, the loss of Escobar will loom large with Narcos season 3 and it'll be key for the first few episodes to hook the viewer so they don't give up on the show because Escobar is no longer a part of it.
Season three of Narcos will debut 1 September.
