A pilot is in a critical condition following a light plane crash at Caloundra Airport on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.
Mr Berg's daughter, Micayla, was at Caloundra Airport on Saturday.
After the woman flagged down a passing motorist, authorities were notified around 2:30 Friday afternoon, but the crash actually happened in the morning.
Pilot Ben Berg, who was raised in South Africa, was trapped in the wreckage for more than an hour as emergency crews worked to free him.
The other trapped passenger had "significant lower limb injuries".
"Enquiries are underway to establish the cause of the accident, that includes the Australian Transport Safety Bureau being advised, and we're making the necessary arrangements through our forensic crash officers to investigate the cause of the accident", he said.
Their condition is not known.
Bevier says the single-engine plane broke apart in the crash, with part of it caught in a tree.
They were taken to a Toledo-area hospital.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Service confirmed one person has been freed from the plane, while crews are still working to free the second person.
The plane is reportedly a private aircraft.
