Jose Mourinho admits Manchester United could still sign one more player, but he will not be "crying" if they do not.
Manchester United begins its league campaign on Sunday, hosting West Ham. "Huddersfield had unbelievable success to come up, but surely they are not going to have enough?"
During last season, only Zlatan Ibrahimovic was apparently great all season long and this year that has to change.
"I think they had a period of dominance in the middle of the first half".
Mourinho's side begin their Premier League campaign at home to West Ham on Sunday having enjoyed a strong pre-season, winning six out of seven friendlies before losing to Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup on Tuesday.
And Ed Woodward, in turn, has secured the services of Victor Lindelof, Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic but remains unable to prize Ivan Perisic - Mourinho's desired option out side - away from Inter Milan. "Old Trafford is waiting for us and I think Old Trafford has a reason to be behind us", he said.
He said: "Last season we were favourites too and finished 15 points behind and, from my experience as a manager, always in the beginning of the season, the new teams are the toughest ones".
"Manchester United can't be as bad as last season".
"For us there are some great examples of teams that have gone up and stayed up".
"Of course we tried to buy good defenders to defend the duels, good situations". I'm not in a position to say I'm not happy. "It depends on many other circumstances but we've tried to buy good defenders but also creative players and strikers to score more goals".
"We have had a better pre-season than previous year and we have the confidence levels of a team that has won a European competition and returned to the Champions League".
"We were focused on the striker getting goals and when it didn't happen we were in trouble". Chelsea are in big trouble if big-signing Alvaro Morata does not adapt to English football, so expect Arsenal to pip them, Everton and Liverpool for fourth place.
