In the video, you can see Sasikal entering the main gate of the high-security prison while in presence of the security officials giving out the idea that she may have been allowed to go out of the jail in civil clothes.
Ms. Roopa said that "Male guards are not granted inside the women's prison complex".
The pictures that showed the jail cell stocked with stainless steel vessels, several clothes, a mosquito net, a cushioned mattress among others, triggered outrage that the AIADMK (Amma) supremo was getting special privileges and treatment at the Parappana Agrahara Jail in Bengaluru, where she is serving her four-year jail sentence in the Disproportionate Assets Case.
The letter also said that Sasikala and Elavarasi had used the official auto of the jail authorities to go out of the prison after dark.
Roopa submitted the footage of the central prison complex, as part of her statement on Saturday. She was given a questionnaire to which she submitted her reply along with the evidence on Saturday.
Sasikala and her relative were seen in purported CCTV video, coming in from outside. However, she refused further comments as the investigation was going on. She is also reportedly allowed to leave the prison premises. It was evident that the special treatment was being provided to the convicts probably for financial gains.
Roopa had alleged that as per her information, two crore rupees had changed hands relating to the agreement to provide facilities to Sasikala including special kitchen, drawing room etc. Roopa's stunning revelation had created a storm in both Tamil Nadu as well as Karnataka.
At the same time, the sources revealed that D. Roopa also gave the evidences to the Indian administrative Officer Vinay Kumar committee that may investigate more into the unevenness than the corruption angle.
