Sooners & Cowboys Get Top 10 Ranking in AP Preseason Poll


Georgia is ranked No. 15. Preseason polls especially don't matter.

While the season hasn't started yet, it's hard not to get excited about Kansas State football this year. The only other team in the state to receive any poll votes was Appalachian State.

During his appearance on ESPN's "SportsCenter" on Monday to discuss FSU's No. 3 national ranking in the AP poll, Seminoles head coach Jimbo Fisher acknowledged that he did not vote his team No. 1 in the coaches' poll earlier this month. All but one of these teams actually won their bowl games.

Long a college football hotbed, the state of Florida has produced 10 national championship teams, but it never had four teams ranked in the Associated Press' Top 25 preseason poll.

Coming off a 10-3 season and a victory over MI in the Orange Bowl, Florida State got four first-place votes and was third in the poll - the 16th time since 1988 the Seminoles have started the season in the Top 5.

Alabama will play FSU on September 2 in Atlanta. The Crimson Tide have opened as the No. 1 team three times and finished Nos. The Bulls, coming off an 11-2 season, are ranked No. 19.

The Alabama Crimson Tide 2017 schedule is not that easy.
