Arsene Wenger's insistence on playing Oxlade-Chamberlain out wide is reportedly what forced the England star to look elsewhere but he has now hailed Klopp's character and man-management skills.

Chelsea had agreed a fee with Arsenal to bring Oxlade-Chamberlain to Stamford Bridge but the player favoured a move to Anfield to work with Jurgen Klopp.

Oxlade-Chamberlain turned down a new deal at Arsenal, in addition to interest from Chelsea, to sign a five-year contract with Liverpool in the latter stages of August.

'Watching him, [you see] his passion and how much he cares about the game.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is yet to meet the majority of his new Liverpool teammates after joining up with Southgate's England team for World Cup qualifier wins against Malta and Slovakia, but the England worldwide will to join his new colleagues this week ahead of Liverpool's huge clash with Manchester City on Saturday.

'The thing that stood out for me was his relationship with the players, how close he seems to bond with the players on and off the field.

With seven assists last campaign the 24-year-old displayed his talents as a winger/wingback under Wenger, but the player made it clear in the summer he felt his talents lied in a more central role.

Klopp revealed when Oxlade-Chamberlain completed his move to Liverpool that he has been keeping tabs on the player since 2014 and the England worldwide has also watched the German's progress from afar.

"What he's achieved, you respect that straight away and how much he knows about the game, and then all his extra attributes-his relationships with the players and how he pushes, encourages, and what he demands from you-that's like a bonus".
