The ministers of state, who were sworn in as Cabinet Ministers are Dharmendra Pradhan, Piyush Goyal, Nirmala Sitharaman and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi. From Suresh Prabhu who recently offered to resign as Railway Minister taking moral responsibility for a string of train accidents to Prakash Javdekar the current HRD Minister to even External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.

Meghwal is MoS in the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation.

Other key takeaways from the cabinet rejig is the inclusion of eminent bureaucrats, such as India's former ambassador to the United Nations from 2009 to 2013, Hardeep Puri, who has bagged the urban development portfolio, and the demolition man of Delhi and former IAS officer from Kerala, K J Alphons, who is India's new tourism minister.

Another major change was implemented in the crucial Railway Ministry, which operates one of the world's largest train networks, ferrying over 12 million passengers daily.

Some Cabinet ministers have already stepped down from their posts are Bandaru Dattatreya, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Sanjeev Baliyan and Faggan Singh Kulaste and Kalraj Mishra.

The induction of Virendra Kumar, Gajendra Shekhawat and Anant Kumar Hegde has evidently been done keeping in mind the Assembly elections that are due in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Karnataka respectively over the next 14 months.

Growth in Asia's third-largest economy slowed to its weakest pace in three years in the last quarter and government promises to boost manufacturing and create tens of thousands of jobs for one of the world's youngest workforces have failed to take off.

The ruling party might also expect the elevation of Ram Nath Kovind to the presidency to play well with Dalit voters in his native Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, where he was governor. The scheme has resulted in efficient and healthy power distributors able to purchase more power from generators, while keeping consumer's power bills to the minimum.

If merit was the criteria why Sitaraman was made the defence minister?

The government has lifted overseas investment ceilings for civil aviation, defence, pharmaceuticals, multi-brand food retail and eased so-called restrictive conditions for single brand retail. In defence, upto 100 percent FDI has now been allowed without the mandatory condition of bringing in "state-of-the-art" technology by the foreign partners.

Besides managing to maintain ties with the Opposition parties, Naqvi has done wonders for the Union Government as the spokesperson in the Parliament and outside. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore got a promotion when he was given the portfolio of Youth Affairs and Sports with Independence charge which was taken away from Vijay Goel.

Also, it appears that ministers haven't been penalised for underperformance.

Goel became MoS without Independent charge and has been given portfolios of Parliamentary Affairs and Statistics and Programme Implementation.
