US urges China and Russia to take action against North Korea


A beaming Kim Jong-Un celebrated his country's latest missile launch and said he aims to reach an "equilibrium" of military force with the United States.

Kim's comments reportedly came while overseeing the North's latest launch of a ballistic missile over Japan the previous day.

Recall that a day after fresh sanctions by the UN Security Council was slammed on North Korea, the pariah nation declared that the U.S. will "suffer the greatest pain" over its role in the imposition of latest sanctions on it.

Singapore has condemned North Korea's latest ballistic missile test on Friday (Sep 15), calling it a "dangerous and brazen provocation".

Russian Federation backed a resolution passed by the U.N. Security Council last week that slapped new economic sanctions on Pyongyang for its latest nuclear explosion test and missiles launches.

In public statements, North Korea has said it wants an official end to the Korean War. The missile was sacked from Sunan district near Pyongyang and reached an altitude of about 770 km, travelling 3,700 km before landing in the sea off Hokkaido, South Korea's military said.

The release further said that this "unilateral act" by North Korea had clearly undermined regional peace and security.

Haley said the US agenda at the UN General Assembly is full, emphasizing efforts to "reform" the global body by cutting spending, including on ineffective peacekeeping programs.
