Widely touted as the first true Nokia flagship, the Nokia 8 is placed as direct competition to the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and iPhone 8. The Nokia 8 would sit at the top of the company's lineup and is expected to be priced around the Rs 45,000 mark. It is powered by a 64 bit 2.45GHz Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Processor with 4GB of RAM. It comes with 64GB in-built storage, which can be further expanded upto 256GB. The smartphone also comes with an evolved antenna design borrowed from the Nokia 5 and for heat management the phone has a full-length graphite shielded copper cooling pipe inside. It comes in Polished Blue, Tempered Blue, Steel and Polished Copper colors. It is not known at the moment which colours will make it to India. Its display consists of a 5.3-inch 2K LCD display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The Nokia 8 sports two 13-megapixel cameras with RGB and monochrome sensors. The selfie shooter is also a 13 MP unit with f/2.0 and PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus) for faster focus lock times.
Just like the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6, the Nokia 8 also runs on a near stock build of Android 7.1.1 Nougat with an update to Android 8.0 Oreo along the way. With ANT+ support, the Nokia 8 will be able to collect fitness and health related data, performing a few of the functions that you find on fitness trackers. Additionally, the smartphone comes with support for Always-on-display. Nokia 8 is also the world's first smartphone to feature the "OZO" Audio, which captures Spatial 360 audio making use of the 3 mics on the device. The company is likely to launch the Nokia 8 in hybrid dual SIM option. That means you can either use this as a dual-SIM phone without memory card option or single-SIM phone with memory card option. Sensors on the smartphone include an Accelerometer, Ambient Light Sensor, Gyroscope, Proximity, E-Compass, and Fingerprint (front-mounted) sensor.
