To compose the look of Maharawal Ratan Singh, the designers factored in parameters such as fabric types and the weather of Chittor.

Speaking to Mid Day, designer Harpreet Narula said, "There is tremendous research that has gone behind every costume that Shahid will be seen wearing in the film".

She further explains, "We sourced organic fabrics from Rajasthan that were then embroidered by hand by 22 local artisans. While we tried to use hues that are associated with masculinity, we also had to balance it with brighter colours, since Rajasthani outfits are all about colour at the end of the day". Rimple also added that several brooches and pins that are used in the film were actually picked from random flea markets.

Last week, at the onset of Navratri, team Padmavati had released the first look of their titular character, played by Deepika Padukone. Ranveer Singh plays Alauddin Khilji in the Bhansali movie and his first look from the film is yet to be unveiled.

Padmavati is based on the folklore of Rani Padmini, who performed jauhar with several Rajput women after Alaudin Khilji invaded the Fort of Chittor.

Earlier the news came that John Abraham and Diana Penty's "Parmanu The Pokhran" shifted its release date to next year in 2018 due to the release of 'Padmavati" on 1 of December and now the news has come that Umesh Shukla's Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor starrer "102 Not Out" has made a decision to opt out of original release date as now, "Padmavati' is set to release on that day.
