On The Fly: Bucs Still Looking For A Kicker After Folk Folds

Folk missed 3 field goals against the New England Patriots - including a key 31-yarder in the 4th quarter.

Folk beat out Roberto Aguayo, who missed two extra points and went 22-of-31 on his field-goal attempts as a rookie a year ago, but it now appears the tables may be turning and the Bucs could be looking to find someone to beat out Folk himself after his terrible performance against New England.

Coaches obviously aren't going to announce cuts immediately after games, but Dirk Koetter was about as unambiguous as you can get here. The Buccaneers brought in Folk to provide competition with second-year kicker Roberto Aguayo, a second-round pick by Tampa Bay who struggled in his rookie year.

The veteran kicker missed a 31-yarder, a 49-yard field goal attempt and a 55-yarder as well. Folk missed all three of his field goal attempts in the narrow, five-point loss. Just four games, obviously, but Folk has made 54.5 percent of his FG attempts and 77.8 of his PATs.

"We'll talk about that", Koetter said.

"You don't want to make any rash decisions", Koetter said. Meanwhile, Twitter took out its frustration on Folk.

So, will the Bucs fire Folk? At 2-2-yes, a disappointing 2-2 given their easy early-season schedule (their four opponents are now a combined 6-11)-the Bucs are still contenders.

If this were the first slip-up by Folk, it would be easier for Koetter to stick with him.
