On Saturday afternoon, syndicated romance radio host Delilah Rene announced that her son, Zachariah, died by suicide last week.

She said he had been battling depression "for some time" and had been receiving treatment for it before committing suicide. Nevertheless, she believed that her son is already at peace together with the Lord.

Now, she is relying on her faith to get her through this tragic time. In the meantime we'll be playing some of my favorite shows from the recent past. She continued that she'll look forward of her return very soon. The New York Daily News reports that Zachariah was 18. "Please pray for my beloved Zacky, and I will pray for all suffering from this debilitating disease called depression".

The heart-stricken mother was sadly forced to say goodbye to another one of her son's back in 2012 due to complications from sickle cell anemia. Perhaps, the radio host is facing the most painful moment of her life right now.

She will be on a leave of absence from radio, according to her post. As painful as this moment is, I am so so so so so thankful that God allowed me, my family and friends to experience the essence of his soul for the past two years.

The "Delilah" show is a mix of call-in requests and love songs that airs nightly on dozens of iHeartMedia stations around the U.S.

Known as the "Queen of Sappy Love Songs", Delilah also announced she would be taking time away from social media and radio to grieve. 10 of the children she welcomed through adoption - which she has proudly advocated on her famed talk show.
