A 28-year-old Bengaluru techie was stabbed to death by two bike-borne men near a chocolate factory in Madiwala. Pranay had returned home after partying at a friend's place and was on his way to meet his colleague and girlfriend when the incident happened. After that, he reportedly called his girlfriend and fixed an appointment to meet her in a few minutes.
The matter came to light when his girlfriend called the victim's mobile and one of the persons present at the spot received her call and informed her about the incident.
Passers-by saw him lying in a pool of blood.
According to the Newspaper, He called his girlfriend and told her he would meet her in a few minutes."Pranay went on his auto and reached the Chocolate Factory Junction where two bikeborne men accosted him".
"The infuriated accused chased Mishra and stabbed him multiple time till he collapsed", said police.
According to police, the duo fled after committing the crime. Passersby rushed him to hospital where he was declared dead. Pranay Mishra working with Accenture was a resident of Tavarekere. Earlier, his sister Prachi Mishra also worked in Bengaluru as a techie.
While the police initially suspected that personal enmity could have been the motive for the murder, deputy commissioner of police (southeast) MB Boralingaiah said it was a case of road rage.
