Samsung's new robot vacuums banish Darth Vader to cleaning duty

There's no confirmed availability in the Middle East yet, but the Star Wars PowerBots are available to pre-order in the United States for US$799.

The Darth Vader version of the POWERbot™ features a specially created cover using custom premium materials that resembles Darth Vader's all-black mask while the Stormtrooper version replicates the look of a white and black Stormtrooper's helmet.

The Darth Vader version goes on preorder October 10th in the USA for about $800, and it comes with Wi-Fi connectivity and its own remote.

As well as the external likeness to Star Wars characters, they both also feature unique sound effects. The Darth Vader model mimics the character's infamous labored breather when turned on.

Each cleaner has suction capacity power of 10W.

Both robot vacuums feature 10-Watt suction power, CycloneForce technology and the ability to clean close to walls and edges.

Have you ever wished for Darth Vader to clean your living room? They are available for pre-order from Samsung's website today and will be released on November 5th.

They can also remember your rooms through Visionary Mapping Plus technology and come with plenty of other smart features to boot.

That's why it makes so much sense, then, that Samsung has announced it's releasing robot vacuum cleaners inspired by the Dark Side. (R2-D2 screwdriver, anyone?) But hey, if you're a Star Wars fan who's in the market for a robot vacuum, why wouldn't you want Darth Vader cleaning your carpet? The Darth Vader edition sells for $799, while the Stormtrooper version is priced at $699.
