Sergio Aguero coy on Manchester City return date

The five-time Ballon d'Or victor has just 12 months remaining on his current Barcelona deal, with City considered one of the very few viable options open to the Argentinian should he decide to leave the Catalan club.

Sergio Aguero would "love" to have Lionel Messi join him at Manchester City, but accepts it would be complicated persuading a club "symbol" to leave Barcelona.

He told TyC Sports: "Most Manchester City players go to London, others have a day off, others go to Italy and others go to Spain".

"But Leo, just like other players like Ronaldo, are symbols of their clubs and it's hard to leave not just to City but to other clubs that also have the money".

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero admits he is lucky to have escaped with only a broken rib from a recent vehicle crash in the Netherlands.

The 29-year-old was involved in a road accident in late September after attending a concert in Amsterdam as his taxi hit a pillar on its way to the airport.

"I was lucky that I know the agent of [Colombian singer] Maluma, he invited me and I went".

"I left for nearly two days and went back to the airport and then got into that accident".

"But I think Messi, like [Cristiano] Ronaldo, are players who are symbols of their clubs and it's hard for them to leave".

"Tomorrow I will get into the group to see how I feel, but at training it's not the same thing as a game, I want to see if I have pain".
