Melissa Etheridge was busted for drug possession after a drug sniffing dog discovered something on her tour bus.

TMZ reports Melissa was arrested in North Dakota by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol while trying to return to the U.S from Canada. The K-9 unit didn't detect drugs in Rundgren's case, but agents allegedly found two vapes and liquid THC.

The "Come to My Window" crooner was reportedly booked for possession of a controlled substance and smiled from ear-to-ear in her mugshot, which was obtained by TMZ. PEOPLE's requests for comment were not immediately returned by CBP or a rep for Etheridge.

Etheridge has been very vocal about her marijuana use saying that she began smoke recreationally at 21 but began using it medically after a breast cancer diagnosis in 2004.

"I asked many of my friends [who had gone through chemo], 'What's the experience?"

Etheridge told authorities she consumes cannabis for pain relief from cancer. What are you doing?' And my friend David Crosby, he was the first one who said, 'You know, Melissa, you have to do medicinal marijuana.

"It was a wake-up call for me", Etheridge told Yahoo in April. "It's too hard otherwise, '" she said. "And it brings you much closer. I think if I get a little more specific, it can help guide the conversation in general about cannabis". I smoked to be out of pain.

She has also been open about smoking pot with her adult children, and pushed back against those who might judge her for it.
