Han Solo Movie Gets Official Title As Filming Wraps

Lucasfilm's "Untitled Han Solo movie" is untitled no more.

Director Ron Howard made the announcement in a video shared on Twitter.

Solo will focus on a younger version of the character brought to life by Harrison Ford in the Star Wars films.

The film will provide the backstory on the smuggler who eventually turns into a war hero for the Rebel Alliance and woos Princess Leia.

The film has already received a lot of attention after Howard took over from Phil Lord and Christopher Miller as director.

After one of the most publicly odd production periods in recent memory, filming has finally wrapped on the Young Han Solo movie, and director Ron Howard has marked the occasion with a pretty big reveal: the film's title. Solo stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo and Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, as well as Emilia Clarke, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Paul Bettany and Woody Harrelson. "Well, as we wrap up production, I just want to take this moment to thank an incredibly talented cast and crew for all their hard work", Howard says.

He also said the movie had now wrapped and will go into editing.

And, despite the delays in production, Solo is still scheduled to be released May 25, 2018. Which means we're very likely to see a first trailer by the end of the year.
