Yogi arrives in Ayodhya for grand Diwali celebrations

To ensure peace during chief minister Yogi Adityanath and governor Ram Naik function in Ayodhya on Wednesday, local administration had put a former minister in the Samajwadi Party government, Tej Narain Pandey aka Pawan Pandey, under Rs House Arrest'.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Wednesday criticised Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's visit to Ayodhya to celebrate Dilwali stating that Adityanath more concerned on going to Ayodhya to celebrate Diwali than looking into medical care and development in his state.

The saffron-robed Chief Minister will take part in several programs including aarti on the banks of the river Saryu and a visit to Chitrakoot - where Lord Ram is said to have spent 12 of the 14 years of his exile.

Key political leaders, including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, were present in the town to be a part of the festivity.

However, critics speculate it to be another event to consolidate Hindu vote bank ahead of the 2019 national election. Slogans of "Jai Shri Ram" rang out.

"How can grandest Diwali celebrations in Ayodhya be complete without the use of modern day "Pushpak Viman" (helicopter) that Lord Ram used to reach Ayodhya after victory over Ravan", Ved Prakash Gupta, the BJP MLA from Ayodhya, told Hindustan Times on Tuesday. The real meaning of Ram Rajya is a home for all.electricity and cooking gas for every home.

In May, Yogi Adityanath, a prominent champion of a Ram temple at the disputed site, offered prayers there. The CM of Uttar Pradesh said that his visit to Ayodhya is not the politics.

Bablu Prajapati, one of the 60 potters hired to make the earthen lamps, said: "I am just happy to have got so much business".
