You can go for the gold with Hershey's new flavor

Hershey Company dollar sales in the USA chocolate category (less than 3.5 oz) grew +2.7% in the first half of 2017, according to IRI data for multi-outlets including c-stores in the 26 weeks ending June 25, 2017. It's a "caramelized creme" flavored candy bar with peanuts and pretzels.

The new bar also features a new shape when the wrapper comes off.

The new bar? It's Hershey's Gold, and it arrives in stores on December 1 in partnership with the U.S. Olympic Committee as part of a campaign to hype up America's quest for Olympic gold. Hershey's market researchers apparently noted the "rising popularity of crunchy multi-textured candy".

Hershey's is known for its original milk chocolate bar creation, and since then, the company has stuck to the chocolate classics.

"The debut of our fourth flavor, Hershey's Gold, was an opportunity to commemorate this golden occasion with The Games, an iconic cultural moment for consumers, Team USA and The Hershey Company to share together", the release states. "It's ideal", he said, "We all we want to be able to get a bite of gold".

So enjoy the crunch of your Hershey's Gold bar and the crunch of some freshly-packed snow.
