Bills vs. Jets: Buffalo falls flat in ugly loss (10 observations)

Things didn't get much better for the running game either as the Bills averaged less than three yards-per-carry.

The New York Jets and Buffalo Bills will both sport Color Rush uniforms when the division rivals meet for Thursday Night Football. It was McCown's team-leading third rushing touchdown, but more importantly the Jets stuck to the ground game, a week after Forte questioned the play-calling.

The Bills tacked on two garbage-time touchdowns to make the score closer than it should have been. Meanwhile his backfield partner Bilal Powell was equally impressive rushing for 74 yards on just nine carries, including a attractive 51 yard scamper in the third quarter.

Outside linebacker Jordan Jenkins recorded his second sack of the game when he stripped Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor at the Bills' 18 with 11:26 to play in the fourth quarter. In a game where the elements certainly became a factor, the Jets had Atlanta on the ropes for a good amount of time before Matt Ryan and co. eventually sealed the victory and dealt the Jets their third loss in a row.

If your favorite parts of watching a "Star Wars" movie are the lightsaber battles, then you're going to love the touchdown celebration that Bills wide receiver Zay Jones pulled off against the Jets on Thursday. The Jets ran the ball for 194 yards against a Bills defense that entered the game ranked No. 3 in the NFL. Jones beat Burris on the play. The keys of the seven-play, 74-yard scoring drive were a pair of 20-yard plays - Jermaine Kearse's sideline reception and Forte's run.

Last week against the Falcons, the Jets ran for just 43 yards in a driving rain storm.
