Rookie 49ers safety Adrian Colbert suffered a broken thumb against Giants

A disappointing season in NY may have hit a new low as the Giants were thoroughly beaten 31-21 on Sunday by a San Francisco 49ers team that was winless and hadn't even held a lead at any point in a game the previous five weeks. The players themselves continue to search for answers as to how they have gone from an 11-win playoff team to one that matched the worst start for the team since 1980. The Giants missed six tackles in the game.

"I thought I gave it enough time, and obviously, I didn't", he said.

Asked if backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo could be inserted for a few series, Shanahan indicated Garoppolo would only play if Beathard is sidelined.

His seven TD receptions in the National Football League have been for 40, 59, 43, 84, 6, 67 and 83 yards.

"They did a great job today protecting me", Beathard said. "I love the way he hits".

Goodwin, a U.S. Olympian long jumper and world-class sprinter, was a third-round pick of the Bills in 2013.

The offensive line, running backs and tight ends also deserve a hefty share of the credit for Beathard's career day. The Giants opportunity to take the lead behind an wonderful one-handed catch by Sterling Shepard.

In the second half, the 49ers built a lead, they ran the ball, and Beathard re-injured his thumb, causing him to throw only one fourth-quarter pass.

"Well it's tough losing", said Manning. Hopefully we can go ahead and turn it around to be competitive, compete - it's sad that I'm sitting here talking about us competing in games instead of talking about winning. "You work hard every week to go out there and execute well to make plays to put your team in a situation to win and it's not happening".

The game had its fair share of bloops and blunders including a tipped pass intended for Matt Breida that landed in the hands of Olivier Vernon. Followed by Breida's 33-yard touchdown. Peterson had 159 rushing yards the previous week against the 49ers. That's the most yards rushed by this team since December 11, 2016 vs the New York Jets. He will be questionable for the team's November 26 game against the Seattle Seahawks. Now they finally have a win, and Joe Staley couldn't be happier.

Had this been nearly any other organization, Ben McAdoo might have already been looking for a job. "So we just have to keep working, compete every week and expect to win every week".

Following the Giants' Thanksgiving Day game against the Redskins, they will have 10 days off until their next game on December 3 against the Oakland Raiders.

The 49ers may have a potential star but if they aren't careful, they may lose him to free agency.
