GAIL India has reported 41.6 percent jump in its Q2FY18 net profit at Rs 1309.6 crore against Rs 924.7 crore in the same quarter a year ago.
The Company's PAT for the quarter ending September 30, 2017 rose to Rs. 1,310 crore from Rs. 925 crore in the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal.
It earned a pre-tax profit of Rs 853.48 crore from gas transmission business during the second quarter, as compared with Rs 660.74 crore in the same quarter past year. "Overall, the tier II and III cities are outperforming the major metros; and since Omaxe's thrust areas are Lucknow, New Chandigarh, Faridabad, Ludhiana and Indore among others, the company has been performing better than the industry", he said.
Its total expenses in the second quarter 2017-18 was at Rs 537.61 crore, down 1.12 per cent, as against Rs 543.71 crore.
The company has reported net sales of Rs.1529.48 crores during the period ended September 30, 2017 as compared to Rs.1600.30 crores during the period ended September 30, 2016.
For the first half of the fiscal, GAIL registerd a net profit of Rs 2,335 crore, which was 32 per cent higher than in the same period a year ago.
Shares of CEAT LTD. was last trading in BSE at Rs.1716.3 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 1747.55.
