I'm sorry, Taylor Swift can't come to the phone right now. Why?
According to Hits Daily Double, the album is projected to debut with 1.30-1.34 million pure USA sales.
Taylor Swift's new album " Reputation" has sold more than one million copies in its first five days, Nielsen Music said on Tuesday, but the USA pop star failed to beat the record set by Britain's Adele two years ago. The singer's long-awaited sixth album arrived just before midnight and naturally it's been all the buzz.
Her previous opening week high came courtesy 2014's "1989", which sold 1.287 million USA copies in its first week.
Swift's 1.05 million USA sales of "Reputation" came despite the singer keeping the album from streaming services and gave her the best-selling album of 2017.
This million-sales week does give Swift a leg up over Adele in one respect, though: Since Nielsen Music began electronically tracking music sales in 1991, Swift is now the sole artist to have four million-selling weeks.
If "reputation" indeed sells over 1.3 million copies, it will set a new career record for Swift.
