According to a report from ESPN's Dave McMenamin, Rose, who will be missing his fifth consecutive game on Friday, is expected to be out of commission for at least two weeks due to soreness in his left ankle. He received additional imaging and evaluation today at Cleveland Clinic Sports Health by Cavaliers team physician Dr. James Rosneck and Dr. Brian Donley. Just sore. I'm getting a lot of treatment for it, and tonight will be my first time wearing a boot. "So I'll wear this for I don't know how long, to see how it helps", Rose said.

Rose initially hurt his ankle back on October 20 in Cleveland's second game of the season, a win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

On Friday, the Cavs said Rose could miss another three weeks with an ankle injury that has bothered him for a month. "Just a bum ankle. Right now I'm just trying to keep my spirits up". The former league MVP signed with the Cavs as a free agent this summer after spending last season with the New York Knicks.

The Cavs are already without Derrick Rose and Isaiah Thomas, and Shumpert had been averaging just 5.2 points and 3.3 rebounds per game while filling in during their absence.
