The incident occurred around 0900 hrs, when four storied building crashed in the Navi Vasti locality of the town.
A portion of a three-storey building collapsed in Maharashtra's Bhiwandi area on Friday.
Maharashtra PWD Minister Eknath Shinde visited the injured at the hospital and spoke to the medical authorities about their condition.
"We have rescued six people and recovered one dead body", said a police official, who declined to be identified.
Though the building was a recent construction and allegedly unauthorized, it is not known if it was included in the list of risky constructions.
A National Disaster Response Force team was likely to join the rescue operation, the official said, adding that the reason for the collapse was not known.
Bhiwandi Tehsildar Shashikant Gaikwad, who was supervising the rescue operations, told PTI that the building, over 10 years old, was not in the list of risky buildings.
