Avengers: Infinity War directors might be counting down to trailer

With a number of huge contracts expiring for key Avengers like Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, and Jeremy Renner coming to a close, it makes sense to bring this era to an end.

Avengers: Infinity War will be in theaters on May 4, 2018. Everything before "Avengers 4" and everything after. Then again, maybe it's not so insane once you start factoring all the inevitable sequels they'll be dealing with on top of whatever wacky new direction they choose after Avengers 4.

New information about the Marvel Studios' next two Avengers films has been revealed this week, but a picture is worth a thousand words - and the ones released alongside Vanity Fair's article may have a lot to say about what's coming in the now in-production sequels.

"I thought, Could somebody take a photo of this?"

Promising Avengers 4 will "bring things you've never seen in superhero films: a finale", Feige said there were another 20 films planned following the 2019 blockbuster, which will be the 22nd since the connected series began with 2008's Iron Man. "It's a bittersweet feeling, but a positive one".

However, it has been known for some time that the franchise will continue with the likes of newcomers Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther) and Brie Larson (Captain Marvel). Marvel has films scheduled as far out as 2020, and Feige teased that the studio has films in the pipeline that are "completely different from anything that's come before - intentionally". "We're looking for worlds that are completely separate - geographically or in time - from the worlds that we've already visited". He added, "There will be two distinct periods". Among those is a possible spin-off from James Gunn, focusing on characters from Guardians of the Galaxy. It seems Feige and Marvel are set to send the MCU in a whole new direction, and some of our most beloved heroes may suffer in the process. "I know it will not be in ways people are expecting", he said. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality.
