After he and Susan Calman were voted off the BBC ballroom show on Sunday (26 November), Kevin used his exit speech to thank Karen for "putting up with him".

From her Wonder Woman samba to Game of Thrones dragon-breathing foxtrot, Susan Calman has gifted viewers some of the most memorable TV moments of the year.

Nevertheless, when it was confirmed that she was out of the show - having done far better than the initial odds suggested - a tear came to Calman's eye.

"This is why tonight is so hard for me because we'd usually be starting another dance".

The judges voted unanimously to save Burke.

She said: 'Everyone's who has voted for us over the last ten weeks...the support we've had has been attractive'. I've had the time of my life.

Kevin said: "I think we were odds-on the first ones to be eliminated at the beginning of the competition.

Thank you, thank you, thank you". So thank you for dancing with me and thanks for being my friend'. "If you can make someone feel something when you dance, you are a great dancer".

The pair's stint on the show came to an end after they failed to impress the judges with their American Smooth to Beyond the Sea by Bobby Darin.

Despite topping the leaderboard week after week, Alexandra and Gorka were revealed to be the first couple in danger - their first time in the dance-off.

Yet, the singer found herself in the danger zone of fourth place on Saturday night, after a lack-lustre Rumba, which scored only a seven from Craig Revel Horwood.

While Darcey Bussell commented: 'The couple I would like to save just for their artistry and technical ability is Alexandra and Gorka'. They competed against Alexandra Burke and her partner Gorka Marquez, with the panel eventually opting to send Susan home and keep the former X Factor victor in the competition.
