The next P-series device could feature a 40 megapixel triple lens system with 5x hybrid zoom. According to some newly leaked Huawei ads, it seems that the Chinese company isn't satisfied with being in a tie for second place.
The rumor is based on images from a digital artist working for "one of [Huawei's] creative agencies" (it's not clear how Blass happened upon them), which also reveal that the cameras may be once again co-engineered with photography company Leica. Huawei declined to comment on the ads. The use of a trio of rear cameras hasn't really been seen before, so how the lenses would be configured - in terms of specifications like sensor setup and aperture size - is anyone's guess. While the date for Easter varies by year, it's generally not later than April, so it makes sense that if Huawei continued to announce its P-series phones in that month it would be hard to start sales before the holiday. There will be a 24MP front-facing camera as well. Each of these images also share some details about the camera used for this upcoming Huawei smartphone. But we can expect that the phone will have latest Android Oreo operating system.
Huawei will also be taking a focus at low-light imaging as the picture also mentions a Pro Night Mode. Then there is Pro AI camera assist which will be capable of doing things like automatic "scene recognition" and "auto framing" and the details on the poster state that it will help users in capture every moment effortlessly.
This could be a mask for the time being to cover the actual Huawei P11 branding of the device or it could also suggest Huawei launching a new camera-centric "PCE series" smartphone. The Huawei P10 was first unveiled at Mobile World Congress in February, so keep your eyes out for more P11 info in the coming months.
