Wenger to Experiment with 'Experienced Team' against BATE

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that Shkodran Mustafi could return to the starting lineup when the Gunners take on Southampton in Saturday's Premier League outing at St Mary's.

Arsene Wenger believes Mustafi will definitely be fit for the midweek London derby with West Ham United next Wednesday [13 December] night if he is unable to feature at Southampton.

"The team news is that everybody is available, we just have a small problem with Mustafi from Saturday".

The Germany worldwide sustained the "minor thigh problem" in the lead-up to Manchester United's second goal in just the 11th of the game last weekend. "It's a possibility - if not Southampton, it will be [for] West Ham", he is quoted as saying on Arsenal's official website. "Some experienced players need competition so we will play quite an experienced team".

"The majority voted for the Champions League teams to go back to the Europa League and [in] many, many years, they won it", he said.

Wenger then hit back at Jose Mourinho's constant jibing and accusations of lies told regarding striker Alexandre Lacazette, who played 90 minutes against United despite having earlier been ruled out of the game with a groin injury that forced him off at half-time of the 5-0 drubbing of Huddersfield Town.

The Gunners are already assured of progressing in top spot and Wenger will continue his policy of mass rotation for the competition with the likes of Jack Wilshere, Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud expected to come in. "What did you want me to do?"

With all that in mind, I think that Arsenal will be good enough to win here and get three points on the board.

"But he tried and he played".

Wenger's side are fifth in the Premier League with 28 points from 15 games and one outside the top four.
