Although PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has become something of a worldwide phenomenon, gamers everywhere are undoubtedly exhausted of experiencing the same Russian landscape time and time again.
Playerunknown's Battlegrounds, the multiplayer survival shooter that has dominated both Steam and Twitch throughout 2017, is coming out of Early Access on December 20, fulfilling promises from its developer that it would reach full release status before the end of the year.
All so PUBG Corp. could focus on developing the core game.
The map looks to be a polar opposite of the Erangel map, offering "harsh and unforgiving desert" instead of lush fields and forest. The map will also feature unique vehicles like an off-roading pickup truck. With the amount of rubberbanding going on in the test servers at its worst moments, hopefully, this third wave of testing will bring forth a ton of optimizations ready to get the game going smoothly at launch. Do note, that this map will be free to all players.
With a December 20 release date, it will certainly complicate Game of the Year discussions if it has a smooth launch.
With PUBG hitting the Xbox One next week, it will be interesting to see how different the game is on the Xbox One versus the PC version.
