Kevin Spacey Replacement Christopher Plummer Scores Golden Globe Nod

Christopher Plummer has earned a Golden Globe nomination for his role in movie All The Money In The World after he was drafted in to replace disgraced star Kevin Spacey.

Kevin Spacey has traditionally been a staple of the Hollywood elite awards circuit over the years, but after sexual assault allegations of underage boys and men surfaced, Spacey was removed from multiple projects including the film All the Money in the World.

Dame Helen Mirren and Dame Judi Dench are among the British nominees.

Toronto-born McCormack is nominated for best actor in a musical or comedy series for "Will and Grace". The Post and Three Billboards each have six.

Last month (Nov17), Scott took the shock decision to cut the star out of the movie and reshoot his scenes with Plummer playing the character, after Star Trek Beyond actor Anthony Rapp alleged Spacey made inappropriate sexual advances towards him when he was just 14.

Ridley Scott, the director of All the Money in the World made the decision to re-shoot any scene that previously included Spacey, sending the movie's production into a weird last-second round of edits and reshoots before the movie hit theaters this month (Dec. 22).

The film's director Ridley Scott, who was nominated for Best Director himself, finished shooting the biographical drama over the summer (17), with Spacey portraying oil tycoon Jean Paul Getty.

Scott received a Globe nomination for best director and Williams for best performance for an actress in a drama.

Oldman faces competition from Timothee Chalamet (for Call Me by Your Name), Daniel Day-Lewis (Phantom Thread), Tom Hanks, The Post and Denzel Washington, Roman J. Israel, Esq.

The nominations for this year's Golden Globes are set to be unveiled in Los Angeles later.

Nicole Kidman and Robert De Niro are among the nominees in the television categories.

The Golden Globe Awards will take place on 7 January, hosted by comedian Seth Meyers.

The nominations were announced at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California by Kristen Bell, Sharon Stone, Alfre Woodard and Garrett Hedlund.
