The Red Wolves could have similar success and find a way to win the bowl game. But for coach Rick Stockstill (quarterback Brent's father), this season is a step back from their 8-5 record a year ago. Middle Tennessee head coach Rick Stockstill said he hopes the game will reignite the fire of the rivalry. They're looking to change their fortunes this year.

In the final matchup of a loaded five-game schedule to kickoff college football bowl season on Saturday, the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders face off against the Arkansas State Red Wolves in the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl in Montgomery, Alabama. West had 26 carries for 170 yards and two touchdowns, all of which were career highs.

But don't count out the Red Wolves defensive front, led by star edge rusher Ja'Von Rolland-Jones, who has 14 sacks this year. They also have a better record as well. There is promise for Arkansas State for years to come, though they may be on the verge of losing some key contributors to the draft. Both teams managed to win at least six games and will look to add a bowl game trophy to their university's collection.

Middle Tennessee: S Javonte Moffat leads the team with 95 tackles. If one side can strike fast and force a turnover, they could run away with the game. The ball would eventually be recovered in the end zone by the Red Wolves and was ruled an Arkansas State touchdown on the field.

The Blue Raiders are 4-2 with Stockstill as the starter, 2-4 without him.

The difference could come down to which defense is more prepared to stop the other, and that's an advantage that Middle Tennessee has. The unit gave up 485 passing yards to Western Kentucky in the penultimate game of the season.

Outside receivers coach Luke Paschall played for Stockstill in 2006, and grad assistant Parks Frazier was an intern on Stockstill's staff in 2015.
