Earlier this week, telecom operator Airtel revised its prepaid plans priced at ₹448 and ₹509 to compete with telecom operators like Vodafone and Jio. The 449 prepaid plan of Jio now offers 91GB data with a validity of 91 days. Talking about the benefits of the Jio 4G 149 plan, the plan offers unlimited calls including all local, STD and roaming calls.
Vodafone has revised its Rs. 448 and Rs. 509 plans to offer more validity and data to prepaid subscribers just as the Reliance Jio slashed prices of its 1GB data per day plans.
Additionally, Airtel has also a Rs. 93 pack that offers unlimited voice calls to all networks, 100 SMSes per day, and a total of 1GB 3G/ 4G data with a validity of 10 days. The company offers unlimited calling, free roaming, 100 SMS per day and 1GB 4G/3G data per day. The 399 plan of Jio offers 84GB data with a validity of 84 days. The company has extended its validity from 84 days to 91 days. However, Jio's Rs. 199 pack provides 1.2GB 4G data per day while the Airtel's pack gives only 1GB data per day. Jio has changed all plans and now started offering extra data with extra validity. The 509 plan of Jio offers 3GB data per day.
Trai's subscriber data showed Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea also registered gains in market share to 24.91%, 18.15% and 16.69% from 24.21%, 17.68% band 16.20% in October respectively. Further, Jio also offers unlimited voice calls on all networks in India, 100 SMSs daily, and free subscription to Jio apps. The plan also offers 100 SMS per day. This means users will get 84GB of data during the validity period, up from 70GB. Reliance Jio 799 plan offers 140GB data for a period of 28 days. In all other circles, buyers will get 84-day and 91-day validity with the Rs. 458 and Rs. 509 prepaid packs.
