Bills fire offensive coordinator Rick Dennison after one season

Since Week 10 and including the wild-card playoff loss at Jacksonville, the Bills scored four offensive touchdowns.

McCoy was sacked from the Broncos midseason after returning to the team for a second stint (where, coincidentally, he replaced Dennison as coordinator in 2009).

McCoy is expected to be a candidate to join McDermott's staff in Buffalo. There are some early candidates, including former Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell and Alabama offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, who has western NY ties. General manager Brandon Beane, speaking on WGR 550, hardly gave Taylor a vote of confidence, saying that the Bills are "still in the process" of finding a franchise quarterback.

The Bills' change at offensive coordinator will likely coincide with a change at quarterback this offseason. "We felt like it was important for us to address our players and say, 'Listen, let's not beat ourselves.' And so we talked a lot during the week about poise". "We are aligned philosophically on how we believe it should look and how we believe the building process should basically take shape". The play resulted in an offensive pass interference penalty and three points instead of seven.

"There's some calls we want back". McDermott said the team had not heard anything new from the league since their last comments on the matter.

The Buffalo Bills will need a new offensive coordinator in 2018.

Dennison served as offensive coordinator with the Denver Broncos (2006-08, 2015-16) and with the Houston Texans (2010-13).

The decision also raised questions about the future of quarterback Tyrod Taylor, who has one year left on his contract.
