Detective Pikachu Releases On 3DS This March Alongside Giant Amiibo

Trusted Reviews has compiled everything you need to know about Detective Pikachu including all the latest news, release date, gameplay trailers and more!

In 2016, Japanese Pokémon fans got to experience the Great Detective Pikachu game that featured an usually smart Pikachu who could actually speak as he teamed up with a young boy named Tim to solve mysteries. An easy mode will be available to guide players through the game, and Nintendo will also release an Amiibo toys-to-life figure that unlocks additional video clips and hints. Just check him out next to the regular Pikachu Amiibo! The film's script will be written by Guardians of the Galaxy co-writer Nicole Perlman and it will be co-written by Gravity Falls creator Alex Hirsch.

Detective Pikachu will see our yellow friend exploring crime scenes in search of new clues and puzzles while also chatting with the citizens of Ryme City in search of valuable information. The whole thing is very odd, but I suppose we should give the game props for bringing something decidedly different to the franchise. The Detective Pikachu amiibo measures in at 13.6 centimeters, which is nearly twice the size of your standard Pikachu amiibo's 7.1 cm.

"This Pikachu claims that he worked with Tim's father, and the two pair up to discover his whereabouts". Missed some of the Pika Prompts during your investigation?

Detective Pikachu is the newest confirmed Nintendo amiibo in months

Bearing all of this in mind, it looks as if the beginning of 2018 is heavily populated with news relating to the Pokemon franchise, as Nintendo could be priming everyone for major details to come regarding the new Pokemon game for the Switch.

Detective Pikachu will be released on the 3DS on March 23. While the man who voices Pikachu in the trailer (and presumably the game) is clearly not DeVito, he still nails the role.

The Detective Pikachu movie that's been whispered about this year has started filming this month.
