Paige's In-Ring Career in WWE is Over

However, due to these circumstances, it appears she has no chance of getting back into the match. Paige experienced something called a "stinger" which is when you temporarily lose feelings in your limbs.

It has been a trying few months for Paige, who had three screws inserted in her neck in October 2016 while suspended under WWE's wellness policy. The Divas division, which has since been rebranded as the Women's division, was hardly getting any time to perform on WWE programming such as Raw and Smackdown when Paige made her main roster debut. A stretcher was brought out, however she was able to walk to the back with the help of the doctors.

By September 2011, Paige had signed a developmental contract with WWE, and reported to the company's developmental territory known as Florida Championship Wrestling. She and El Patron were also involved in a high-profile incident at airport that led police to consider domestic violence charges against both wrestlers.

The Anti-Diva recently announced her entry into the first-ever Women's Royal Rumble at the January 28 Royal Rumble pay-per-view, but her status likely means WWE will be forced to find a replacement. Paige reportedly "was informed this week that she will not be cleared to return to the ring after her most recent in-ring injury", sources told the site.

Paige recently returned to television after a long absence due to a previous injury.

There is still no official confirmation from the WWE or Paige herself concerning the issue, so there is a slight chance these reports are false. It's rumored that Paige was given the news at the RAW tapings this week.

It's obviously devastating news for a 25-year-old Paige, who was just in the midst of her prime wrestling years. With her Divas championship win, she was also the youngest woman to hold the belt at 21 years of age. One of the characters in the film is based on Paige.

The importance of her connection to the film alone should allow Paige to continue to be showcased in some fashion until the film hits theaters.
