Real Madrid's struggles continue with home loss to Villarreal

Cristiano Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes is in talks with Paris Saint-Germain regarding a transfer for the Real Madrid superstar, Spanish outlet, Don Balon reports.

Real Madrid have won five of their last six La Liga home games but they lost the last one (0-3 vs Barcelona).

Madrid also drew at Celta Vigo 2-2 a week ago, and lost to Barcelona 3-0 at the Bernabeu in its last match previous year. However, Madrid's biggest stars have failed to deliver.

Real fired off almost 30 shots but their accuracy was wayward, with Cristiano Ronaldo among the worst culprits in front of goal. Karim Benzema will miss Saturday's game with a hamstring injury but has also failed to find the back of the net regularly this year.

Villarreal have had an up and down stretch over their past six games. Villarreal have scored the eighth most goals and allowed the eighth fewest goals in La Liga. With Madrid struggling, Villarreal are catching them at the right time and could steal points away from home.

Looking ahead, Real Madrid's search for top form will continue Thursday when they travel to Estadio Municipal de Butarque for the first leg of their Copa del Rey quarterfinal against Leganes. Last season's King's Cup runners-up Alaves beat third division Fomentera 2-0 to wrap up a 5-1 aggregate win thanks to second-half goals from Ermedin Demirovic and Alfonso Pedraza.

Both teams had their moments in what was a tight opening 10 minutes, with Nacho seeing a goal-bound strike blocked for Real Madrid, while Samu Castillejo was threatening down the other end of the field.
