Donald Trump's lawyer arranged a payment of $130,000 in hush money to adult film performer Stormy Daniels (aka Stephanie Clifford) in October 2016, one month before the USA presidential election, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.

Apparently, Miz Clifford alleged to sources vetted by the WSJ that she and POTUS had a sexual encounter in 2006, a year after the businessman Wednesday Melania Trump.

Although a White House spokesperson refused to comment on the payment allegation, they did note that the liaison rumor about Stormy and Donnie was "old, recycled reports, which were published and strongly denied prior to the election".

Cohen also provided a statement to Buzzfeed that he said was signed by Stormy Daniels, denying reports of a sexual encounter with Trump.

Cohen's reference to previous allegations may include the Journal's report in the days before the election that Clifford meant to appear on "Good Morning America" to discuss the alleged affair. "It would be surprising, but not shocking", said Mosny, who added that Trump may have dangled the opportunity to Clifford of appearing on "The Apprentice".

After the agreement, Clifford's camp complained the payment wasn't being made quickly enough and threatened to cancel the deal, some of the people familiar with the matter said.

Clifford's lawyer told the outlet he couldn't comment because of attorney-client privilege. (Reached through her representatives, Clifford did not immediately respond to a request for comment).

Clifford, 38, has appeared in nearly 150 pornographic films as well as Steve Carell's 2005 film The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Seth Rogen's Knocked Up in 2007. He offered $10,000 and his private jet for a sexual encounter, according to Drake.

According to Fox News, Clifford was considering an appearance on "Good Morning America" in fall 2016 to discuss Trump. "I am the fix-it guy", he said in an interview in January 2017 before Trump's inauguration.

Clifford wrote in the letter that when she met Trump, he was "gracious, professional and a complete gentleman to me and EVERYONE in my presence".

Another adult-film star, Jessica Drake, later alleged in an October 2016 news conference that Trump kissed her and two other women without permission in a hotel suite after the same 2006 golf event. "Rumors that I have received hush money from Donald Trump are completely false".

The payment Clifford received from Trump allegedly came around the time of the Access Hollywood recording being leaked, the Journal said.
