As a part of National Youth Day Celebration, organised by Bharatya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda in Rama Krishna Mission today wherein the State BJP President Tapir Gao, Advisor to CM and Bomdila MLA Japu Deru, State Vice President Tame Phasang, BJYM President Taring Teri, and others were present. "In honour of this great scholar, monk and nation builder, we commemorate this day as National Youth Day", said President in his tweet.
The Festival is organised by Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India in collaboration with State Govt. of Uttar Pradesh at Gautam Buddha University, Gautam Budh nagar, Greater Noida from 12th to 16th January, 2018.This is the first time that the National Youth Festival is being organized in NCR.
He said that the character of Swami Vivekananda was an inspiration to the youth and his teachings were contemporary. Modi urged people to work to make Indian villages free from open defecation in next two years by creating awareness at their level. "This can be a catalyst behind their innovations", Modi said.
The objective of organising the NYF is to provide a platform to bring the youth of the country together in an attempt to provide them with an opportunity to showcase their talents in various activities.
"We have to create the India that our freedom fighters dreamt of", he added. Today is the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and it would be culminated after 23 January as being the birth anniversary of Subash Chandra Bose. "He also urged the youth to follow the teachings of Swami Vivekananda".
