The press secretary added: "Is she a successful individual?" "I don't think she had any intention [of declaring]".
The "Kiss From a Rose" singer seemed to be responding to the near-universal acclaim Oprah's Golden Globes speech received on Sunday. Many actors and actresses wore black for the Golden Globes to protest sexual harassment in the entertainment industry.
As her longtime partner Stedman Graham watched from the audience, she told the story of a black woman from Alabama named Recy Taylor, who died at the age of 97 on December 28, 2017, and her fight for justice after her rape by six white men in 1944.
The White House has already chimed in on Monday, welcoming Winfrey as a potential Trump rival. "Oprah would always be my first choice", he told Larry King back in 1999.
"She was interested if he'd look in the mirror and give her the honest, bone marrow truth", the rep said, adding that Winfrey was considering a 60 Minutes special with Weinstein. Who wouldn't be flattered at widespread suggestions she ought to run for president?
It's nearly like she thinks America should elect somebody with experience in politics.
"And he said, "Absolutely, she would".
Winfrey never mentioned running for office.
"She writes her column every month in the magazine".
Dr. Oz, another good pal of Oprah's, spoke to Inside Edition about the possibility of her running.
