If Oprah was president

"We welcome the challenge, whether it be Oprah Winfrey or anybody else", White House spokesman Hogan Gidley told reporters on Monday, adding that Trump will definitely run for reelection.

Following her rousing and poignant speech at the 75th Golden Globes on Sunday night, a number of celebrities and luminaries called for Oprah to launch a campaign for 2020.

Ivanka Trump has been mocked for backing Oprah Winfrey's "inspiring" speech praising women for speaking out against sexual harassment. You know I did one of her last shows, she had Donald Trump as before politics, her last week and she had Donald Trump and my family. "Listen, Oprah has got a very nice life".

Winfrey, when asked backstage if she planned to run for president, replied, "I don't".

"I don't think at this point she is actually considering it", said Winfrey's best friend Gayle King, who is also a television personality. "She would absolutely do it", Stedman said.

Some pundits have warned running for the White House could damage Winfrey, noting approval ratings tend to crash immediately once an individual announces their intent to run for office, and pointing to her lack of political experience as a potential obstacle.

"I probably wouldn't, but I do get exhausted with seeing what's happening with this country and if it got so bad I'd never want to rule it out totally", he said.

Jimmy Kimmel, host of the Late Night Show, reacted saying, "Given the choice between Oprah and our current president, I'm on the bus with Oprah travelling the country encouraging people to sign up and vote". "Their time is up", Oprah's speech went, referencing the #MeToo and #TimesUp campaign which funds legal defense for women.

As for possible running mates for Winfrey - should she run - King insists that there will never be a Winfrey-King ticket. The person emphasized that Winfrey has not made up her mind about running.

As the audience applauded, Winfrey continued: "You don't have to like her".

President Trump's son Donald Jr. tweeted that NBC revealed the media bias against his father.

"But in terms of where she stands on a number of positions, I would find a lot of problems with that", Sanders said.
