Air Force Academy sports fans may not need those pom poms today, after all.

The Sooners, who've won three-consecutive NCAA national championships, were scheduled to compete with Air Force Academy.

Due to the shutdown, the Air Force Academy announced that they are canceling all athletics "until further notice" but it seems like it will be the case through the duration of the shutdown.

The men's basketball game was one of seven athletic events scheduled for Saturday, all of which were canceled.

Air Force AthleticsHead coach Dave Pilipovich and Air Force will not play Fresno State on Saturday afternoon.

A Navy sports information director said the school is still playing its events Saturday, while the Army has not addressed the shutdown, though the Black Knights are expected to play games as scheduled.

The statement went on to read that if a solution to the shutdown could be reached, the Academy would work to reschedule as many events as possible. The teams played last night, with Sacred Heart winning, 2-1. The academy also had men's and women's swimming, men's ice hockey, men's gymnastics and rifle events taking place and have all been canceled.
