Vikings, Eagles set for defensive showdown

It's how coaches like Bill Belichick and Pete Carroll can struggle in one place before they dominate in another. I'm going to get one regardless, so it's not that big of a deal, but instead of getting the logo I'd love to get one that says Super Bowl champs and from the look of the rigged NFL's slip-up... it looks like they'll at least make it to the game. The Patriots have been on top for so long that you can call upon three distinctive periods within New England's run: pre-Spygate, between Spygate and Deflategate, and the ongoing post-Deflategate period.

After seeing his workload ramp up late in the season, Ajayi could be in for his first 20-touch day with the Eagles. Their complex blitzes led to an overwhelming number of QB hits - only six players managed more than defensive end Everson Griffen's 26 in the regular season.

The Eagles, who last won an National Football League championship in 1960, are 0-2 in Super Bowls and lost four conference title games between 2001-08. The Patriots are in the AFC championship for an incredible seventh straight year.

Having only two games to spend the whole week thinking about is a recipe for over-thinking, though not quite as bad as two weeks to think about the single game that is the Super Bowl. How big? Try almost seven million more viewers.

The goodwill that the Patriots had built was already wearing thin by the time Spygate was born prior to the 2008 season, going from plucky underdog to league juggernaut to the rarefied air as a loathed entity in sports. But for those opting for collective celebration - or sympathy - scores of local pubs, restaurants and other venues plan to cash in on the hoopla and hype of Super Bowl buzz by holding special game viewings complete with purple drinks. And both have never won a Super Bowl (Vikings 0-4, Eagles 0-2).

You can quickly build a case for why the Patriots will beat the Jaguars, but you can just as easily argue for the Jaguars beating the Patriots.

The teaser spot, created by Hyundai's agency of record, INNOCEAN USA, opens with homage to Hyundai's groundbreaking Operation: Better campaign, in which three overseas troops watched the game in custom-built, 360-degree immersive pods and were virtually reunited with their families, who were at the stadium. Also, the Patriots' battles for the AFC crown had viewership lifts from a mix of their own controversies, impending retirements (Baltimore's Ray Lewis after 2011) and Peyton Manning's first playoffs with Denver for the 2014 season. The CNN breaking news segments, internet conspiracy theories, and horrific deflated balls jokes made for similarities between the 16-1 season in 2007 and their 2015 season, which is likened to a season-long middle finger to Roger Goodell for his punishments on the Pats. Those are the toughest games and probably the best games, but the Super Bowl has so much hype. New England is the smartest, most flexible team in football-it's been this way for years. We need Xavier Rhodes in the Super Bowl.

Police are warning Philadelphia business owners that they can not guarantee their safety should the Eagles win.

As this year's final four teams are doing this week, we had done all of the logistics work to prepare for the Super Bowl. Yet, the channels mean little for conference title games with CBS locked to the AFC and FOX set on the NFC.

I'm a bit less sure of this, but I think the Patriots will play smarter defense than the Steelers did against Jacksonville, and they are not a big play team like Pittsburgh, so the points total isn't going to rise.

Before this postseason, the Jaguars hadn't been to the playoffs since 2007, and had won consecutive playoff games only once (1996).
