Barcelona to challenge Real Madrid for Salah

Reports from Spain have claimed that Chelsea are weighing up a sensational £119m summer swoop for Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio, having received glowing reports of the player's talents from their striker Àlvaro Morata.

Courtois has won two Premier League titles and the League Cup over the past three and a half seasons after his return to Stamford Bridge from a three-season loan at Atletico Madrid.

The European champions appeared to have abandoned their pursuit of De Gea over the summer and placed emphasis on securing the services of Athletic Bilbao's Kepa Arrizabalaga instead.

And according to Spanish transfer outlet Don Balon, Ronaldo has had his say on who should replace Keylor Navas at the Bernabeu.

Ronaldo feels De Gea has a good knowledge of La Liga and playing for the Spanish national team will see him link up well with team-mates Sergio Ramos and Dani Carvajal.

"My personal situation is related to the city of Madrid", Courtois told Sport/Foot Magazine.

"Whenever I have the opportunity, I try to return to Spain. My two children live there with their mother", he said. As a situation, it is not always easy. I have my daughter every day on Facetime. My heart is in Madrid; it's logical and understandable.

It is well-noted that Catalan giants Barcelona and Spanish super club Real Madrid go toe-to-toe nearly every season for La Liga title, and have generally shared the spoils of the Spanish league between themselves for a long time.

The reality however is that they are, by their own lofty standards, struggling. Whether the Reds will let another of their key men depart remains to be seen, though they will face a tough battle to keep hold of Salah.

"What is certain is that I will one day return to Madrid". It is there that I became an adult.
