With a month remaining until Selection Sunday, the NCAA selection committee released its preliminary bracket projection of the tournament's top 16 seeds on Sunday.

The No. 3 seeds are: Clemson (20-4), Texas Tech (21-4), Michigan State (24-3) and North Carolina (19-7).

The other Big Ten teams to make the cut were Purdue (No. 1 seed for the West Region) and Ohio State (No. 4 seed for the East Region). Cincinnati, 3. Michigan State, 4.

"The sleeper team to get to the 1 line is Texas Tech", Davis said, noting their current standing in the Big 12 and potential to pick up another big time win, when they face KU at home on February 24.

However, the Spartans are being pulled down by their overall strength of schedule, which is No. 94 in the nation.
