After two attempts, Yoel Romero missed weight for his UFC 221 title fight against Luke Rockhold, coming in first at 188 pounds and then 187.7 pounds. Should Romero win, he will not be awarded the title.

Report: Dana White confirms that Yoel Romero will fight Robert Whittaker next.@bisping @twooodley debate what a rematch would look like for the title?

The interim UFC middleweight title will only be eligible to be won by Rockhold.

Romero won a silver medal at the 2000 Olympics in wrestling but he did the damage in the ring with his fists on Sunday.

UFC executive Dave Shaw said it's the highest grossing event in Perth Arena history. The event drew 12,437 fans for a gate of $3.6 million AUD. His knockout of Rockhold would have earned him some extra dough on any other night, but because he missed weight, he became ineligible for a post-fight bonus. Romero stepped in on a few weeks notice to replace Whittaker.

Eventually, it was Cris Cyborg that answered the call and she will be defending her women's featherweight title in the main event against UFC newcomer Yana Kunitskaya, who was recently the Invicta women's bantamweight champion.

The Cuban veteran had Rockhold hurt with punches in the second, but was unable to get the finish. UFC Fight Night: Wedum vs. Tybura took place in Sydney, Australia on November 19, 2017.

Pennington had hoped to face Nunes sooner, but suffered injuries as a result of an ATV accident.

Both Jackson and Brooks are 0-1 in the UFC and the fight would present a matchup for Brooks with someone with a similar level of experience, although Jackson has previously competed in amateur MMA, kickboxing and muay thai. He now improves his professional mixed martial arts record to a flawless 12-0.
