However, a new unconfirmed report has surfaced which says there will be a Redmi Note 5 Pro launching along with the Redmi Note 5.
The cameras on the Note 5 are expected to be 12-megapixel snapper on the rear and a 5-megapixel on the front.
The company will announce the pricing details of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 for India at the launch event but according to a leak, the starting price will be at CNY 1,499 (roughly Rs. 15,400). This phone seems to sport somewhat thinner side bezels than the Redmi 5 Plus, at least if this render is any indication, while its display does not seem to sport rounded corners, which is a bit odd considering that both the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus do. The device is also touted to launch in two storage variants - 3GB RAM/32GB and 4GB RAM/64GB.
"The Pro version on the other hand will have the same FHD+ resolution with a 5.7" or 5.9" display. We can expect a 5.99-inch full-HD+ (1080x2160 pixel) display, Android 8.0 Oreo-based MIUI 9 build, and Snapdragon 636 processor under the hood. Irrespective of the variant, the phone will come with 64GB ROM.
The Redmi Note 4 was also powered by Snapdragon 625 and it's a surprise that Xiaomi isn't upgrading it for the successor.
Note 5 Pro will feature dual camera setup on the back and a 12MP primary sensor will be paired to a 5MP secondary sensor. Luckyankit says it has a 12MP and 5MP combo on the rear while a 20MP camera graces the front. It will be backed up by a 4,100mAh battery along with Quick Charge 4.0 support. The upcoming handset will be a Flipkart-exclusive device as the Indian e-commerce major has confirmed on Twitter that the upcoming smartphone will be exclusively available on the platform.
"In the teaser video, we can read that "5 lets you see more, 5 gives you the widest perspective, 5 is an all-rounder device, and 5 makes colours come alive".
