Austin and her team fundraise throughout the year for the event in addition to getting help from the Tebow Foundation.

Parents and caregivers waited in anticipation for honored guests to step out on the carpet for the third annual Oklahoma City Night to Shine.

Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts put a smile on several faces Friday night when he attended the Tim Tebow Foundation's Night To Shine event.

"They were looking for churches to partner with".

The magical prom experience is made possible through the outpouring of support from the community and volunteers and gives people living with special needs a chance to shine brighter than usual. "When we heard about these proms we said let's do this, let's have a party, let's celebrate", said Freed.

They're even crowned king or queen of the prom. As part of Night to Shine, each VIP received either a crown or a tiara as befitting prom royalty.

"They do not judge you", Austin said.

"She really had a good time last year, and she couldn't wait for it to start this year", Stevenson said. "So we're hoping every year it gets bigger and bigger in the Quad Cities".
