Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress are converging on Daura, Katsina State on Friday (today) for a crucial meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, Daily Trust is reporting.
Buhari had on Thursday flown to Daura from Abuja ahead of the meeting, which many believed was scheduled to hold in his home town because of the importance he attached to it.
The former minister in a tweet on twitter maintained that the president and the APC governor ought to have shown concern for the 41 people slaughtered by Fulani herdsmen in Zamfara instead of hiding to discuss 2019 elections.
While in Daura, the President is expected to receive visitors who would be trooping to his private resident to console him on the death of Hajiya Halima Dauda and Hajiya Ai'sha Alhaji Mamman.
THEWILL recalls that the president had last week appointed National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to reconcile aggrieved members of the party while a number of APC Governors and Ministers have started the campaign for the President's re-election.
NAN reported that the president was received by the Emir of Daura, Farouk Umar and thousands of well-wishers.
Newsmen report that three of the governors were represented by their deputies at the meeting, which started at about 2.45 p.m.
