Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar is under observation at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai where he was admitted on Thursday after inflammation of pancreas.
The Budget session of the Goa Legislative Assembly, which began on February 19, is expected to be out on Thursday by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who was undergoing treatment for pancreatitis at the hospital.
"Parrikar has arrived in Goa".
Soon after his discharge, he flew to Panaji and presented the state annual budget following a cabinet meeting held in the Assembly complex. The session was supposed to continue until mid-March, but due to Parrikars illness, the committee made a decision to cut it short, Sawant told reporters. Police and bureaucracy had to make last-minute arrangements and security. During this period, my interaction with the public will be limited.
He said the "overpouring" of love by the people has strengthened his conviction that Goa and Goans are his "extended family". "However, Goa being a tourist destination, narcotic drugs are smuggled in [to] Goa for trade, consumption and transit", the original written reply tabled on Wednesday said in response to a question from former Chief Minister and Congress MLA Digambar Kamat and others. The leaders of the two parties said status quo would continue until Parrikar remained in charge. "We are glad to see him and we hope he recovers fully", Mr. Kavlekar said. "I have been asked not to maintain close contact".
